A Theory on how Sertraline works

Sertraline makes you hyper, lowers the anxiety that you'll mess something up, and makes everything equally interesting so you figure you might as well do the interesting to-do item because it's just as interesting as the other interesting things you might otherwise do. Whee!

UPDATE: I'm feeling more normal now. The tingle is still there, but I have less urge to type "Whee!".

This is very amusing to me for some reason -- your hyperness -- because you seem very not hyper. Anyway, if you continue to feel crazy, you might want to switch drugs. Give it some time first, though. Paxil made me crazy/jittery, Zoloft made me super calm, and Effexor and Cymbalta gave me crazy muscle pain. It affects everyone differently. Also, I just started my son on Zoloft, so we'll see how it affects a four year old.

Zoloft has been known to cause birth defects such as apraxia from mothers taking this medication. Apraxia is an impairment of the nerves or nervous system that affects a person’s ability to plan, execute and sequence motor movements. Although this med can help many, the warnings on side effects should be clearly stated.
